Stephen Colbert is my hero

Over the weekend, the aforementioned host of the Colbert Report was the host/featured speaker at the White House Correspondents' Dinner. In a word, "Wow." In two words, "Big balls."

As a self-proclaimed "neo-neocon," he stuck it to the Man like nobody else. He also stuck it to the media and the White House correspondents themselves, save their grand dame, Helen Thomas. (So of course, his speech isn't getting that much coverage.)

It is, to me, one of the greatest performances/readings/whatever-you-want-to-call-it of satire ever. And he didn't give it to the choir, he gave it directly to those who are responsible. W. and Pickles were sitting right there, probably confused and wondering why the so-called funny guy wasn't being more funny.
